Ouray Ice Festival - January 19-22, 2017

The Ouray Ice Festival, held annually since 1996, is the largest ice climbing event in North America, bringing together ice climbers from across the globe.  Aside from inspiring over 30,000 outdoor enthusiasts the Ice Festival is also the main fundraiser for Park maintenance and operations.


True Grit Walking Tours

Commemorates the filming of True Grit (in the movie, Ridgway is portrayed as Fort Smith, Arkansas).  Tour attendees visit nine sites within a 2-block area in downtown Ridgway.  Walking tour attendees meet their guide at the Ridgway Visitors Center (150 Racecourse Road, just west of the intersection of Highways 550 and 62) Fridays at 10:45 a.m. from May to October.  Admittance is $10 for ages 12 and above. (Children are free.)  A group of six or more may request a tour anytime throughout the year.  For more detailed information, click below.

Mountain Air Music Series – Month of June in Ouray

Ridgway Concert Series – Month of July in Ridgway

A FREE outdoor concert series held in Fellin Park in Ouray in June, and in Hartwell Park in Ridgway in July.  Each Thursday from 6 - 9 pm, the series will feature incredible live music along with great food, non-alcoholic beverages, and beer, wine and spirits for purchase.  Local non-profit organizations will benefit from beverage and food sales during the concerts.  Each concert will be a multi-faceted family-friendly affair, with great kids' entertainment to go along with the music.


Elks Bingo – Wednesday evenings beginning in June until September 1

The Ouray Elks Lodge hosts bingo every Wednesday evening during the summer months, starting at 7 p.m.  Come and play, and experience the history of this grand, old building built in 1903.


44th Annual Telluride Blue Grass Festival - June15-18, 2017

The 44th Annual Telluride Bluegrass coincides with the Summer Solstice; the longest day of the year; the beginning of summer. It's a magical time of sun and light, when the the high country of Colorado puts away its skis and grabs hiking boots, kayaks, and a low-back festival chair to take in "Bluegrass."


36th Annual Telluride Wine Festival - June 22-25, 2017

Four wonderful days where indulgence is accepted and expected. Take delight in expanding your wine knowledge by attending winemaker luncheons and dinners, reserve tastings and special seminars.  Complement the experience by attending one or more of our culinary demonstrations featuring the industry's most talented personalities.


Independence Day Celebration, Ouray - July 4, 2017

41st Telluride Jazz Celebration - August 4-6, 2017

Telluride Jazz Celebration combines a rich tradition of preserving the artistry of the American art form Jazz with a reputation of being America's destination Jazz event nestled in the majestic San Juan mountain range.  A not-to-be-missed musical event, performances take place on outdoor stages during the day and in  and in historic theaters and clubs at night.


Mt. Sneffels Marathon and Half Marathon, Ouray & Ridgway – August 12, 2017

Set for its annual summertime running between the small southwestern Colorado towns of Ouray and Ridgway, the Mount Sneffels Marathon & Half Marathon takes runners along a high-elevation course that follows an overall downhill descent on the dirt county roads between the two towns, along the Uncompahgre River Valley.


33rd Annual Ridgway Rendezvous Arts and Crafts Festival , Ridgway - August 12-13, 2017

33rd Annual Ridgway Arts & Crafts Show scheduled every year on the second weekend of August, showcasing fine arts and original crafts.  Free admission. Entertainment and vendors. Info: Ridgway Chamber of Commerce, 1-800-220-4959.


Ouray County Fork Fest – 2017 dates TBA

Coffee roasting demonstrations, live chef demos, culinary workshops, a farm-to-table pot luck, a restaurant crawl, films at dusk, and more!  Plenty of fun in both Ouray and Ridgway locations!


8th Annual Grillin’ and Chillin’ Brew & Music Fest and Highgraders Mining Contest, Ouray - August 25-27, 2017

Ouray Heritage Weekend with Chillin and Grillin and Highgraders mining competition. Food, live music, local vendors and regional craft brewers.  A "friendly" competition in traditional mining skills like single-jacking, team drilling and mucking. History in action! Fellin Park and Ouray Hot Springs Pool parking area.


Telluride Film Festival - September 1-4, 2017

The Telluride Film Festival is an annual event held over Labor Day weekend.


Ouray County Fair & Rodeo, Ridgway - September 1-3, 2017

The Ouray County Fair is held annually in Ridgway, Colorado over Labor Day Weekend.  The highlight of the Fair is the Ouray County Rodeo held at the 4-H Arena.


44th Annual Imogene Pass Run, Ouray to Telluride - September 9, 2017

The Imogene Pass Run course is 17 miles, 2.5 blocks long (17.1 miles). The  Run has increased greatly in size and importance from its humble origins in 1974. Where once it was an adventure run for a few pioneers, today the race is immensely popular and the number of registered participants is by necessity restricted, due to safety and logistics reasons. From the original field of six, it has grown to encompass more than 1,500 participants!  Online registration starts on June 1.


Railroad Days - September 21-24, 2017

A weekend of history, guided tours, talks, and a symposium celebrating Ouray County's world-famous railroad heritage!


24th Annual Blues and Brews Festival , Telluride - September 15-17, 2017

One of the most scenic music festivals in the country, the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival is a three-day celebration of blues, funk, jam bands, indie, rock, gospel and soul performances —accompanied by some of the best microbreweries in the country, a wide variety of food and craft vendors, children's activities, late night shows, and much, much more - all on the festival grounds. By night, follow the festival as it flows into the town of Telluride and Mountain Village, with late night juke joints and after-hours jams.


Sneffels Fiber Festival - September 23-24, 2017

An annual event held at the Ouray County Fairgrounds and 4-H Center.  This year's vendors will bring supplies to our area and handmade wearable clothes ready for you to try on and walk out with. This festival is for the shopper, crafter and artist. Come delight in these new creations and bring your friends. FREE demonstrations throughout the event.  This event is for the crafter and non crafter of all ages.


Ouray Oktoberfest - October 7. 2017

A fun evening that includes the Annual Jeep Raffle Drawing.  Dancing, food, door prizes, and museum quilt raffle. For information call Ouray Chamber at 800-228-1876 or 970-325-4746.


Ouray Yule Day & Night - December 2, 2017

Shopping on Main Street, Santa sightings, holiday face painting, and refreshments at local businesses -- topped off by a parade followed by an affordable supper and FREE photos of the kids with Santa & Mrs. Claus at the Elks Lodge!
