About This Unit

This townhome is a 3-bedroom, 3.5 bath unit with amazing views. It is the west end unit located in a building comprised of four townhomes. With three bedrooms with a queen bed in each, Elkhorn Townhome #1951 can comfortably sleep up to 6 guests.

The entry level of each Elkhorn Townhome has access to the one-car garage, a bedroom, and full bath. A set of stairs takes you up to the main living area where you will find a living room with gas fireplace and access to the deck, a dining area, kitchen, and half bath. Up another level is the third floor with the master bedroom with private, oversized soaking tub and walk-in shower, another bedroom and full bath, and laundry.

Built in 2006, Elkhorn Townhome #1951 has nice high-end finishes like cherry flooring, travertine tile, solid alder interior doors, cabinets and trim, and granite countertops. #1951 also has air-conditioning and a beautiful stone fireplace.

Located 1.25 miles from the center of downtown Ouray, you can easily drive to town. If you like to walk, you can just cross the highway and stroll along the Riverwalk Trail to the hot springs pool and park, then up into town.

ADVANCE DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT POLICY: All reservations require an advance deposit equal to 50% of the total cost of each reservation at the time the reservation is made, payable by credit card. Guest will receive a reservation confirmation and guest statement within 24 hours of booking and paying the deposit. The final payment is due 60 days prior to arrival date. Preferred method of payment is credit card. To make final payments, Guest will receive a final payment reminder with instructions to pay the balance online. Guest may also contact OVR by phone with credit card information, or may notify OVR by email to use the same credit card that was used for the deposit. Upon payment of final balance, Guest will receive a guest statement within 24 hours of payment, and a welcome letter with check-in information (to include after-hours check-in)approximately 10 days prior to arrival date.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS: All cancellations must be received in writing and are subject to the following conditions: Cancellations at least 61 days prior to arrival date are entitled to a full refund, minus a $100.00 cancellation fee. Cancellations 60 days or less prior to arrival date result in forfeiture of all monies paid. Failure to pay final payment in the allotted time will result in a cancellation of the reservation, and forfeiture of deposit.

The accommodations were great. Overall the place was great, and location to the city was nice. Road noise was a little more than expected and wifi seems to be nonexistent unless you are next to the router in the lower bedroom. Henry F.

We stayed in July 2017 for 6 nights. It is a high-end property with beautiful appointments. We had six adults and were quite comfortable with plenty of privacy. Very clean and had the needed paper goods such as paper towels and toilet paper; plenty of bath towels, extra linens and pillows. Each room has their own personal bathroom. Beds are comfortable. All of us ended up taking off the memory foam topper. It is too soft and with the summer weather, - we got too hot. Once removed, we all slept well on the beds. The garage is a nice addition as well. The unit is tucked away on a hillside. This unit sits next to the Hwy. The highway noise can get loud during the day. We often left the windows open for the fresh air. At times the traffic was too loud for visiting, so we ended up turning on the air conditioner and closed the windows. Granted, we were not in the unit very much during the day. The noise is not a hindrance at night. Traffic dies down significantly. There is additional parking on the shoulder of the Hwy. Safe and plenty of room for our additional 3 vehicles. Getting into the garage is a little tight. I drive a Lincoln MKX and was not able to make a turn directly into the garage. I had to backup at least once. Not a big deal for me, however, a truck would have difficulty getting into the garage. Most of our meals were at the townhouse. It was very convenient. There was a shortage of small spoons and a large pot for cooking pasta. And only one large bowl. We had to get creative when making certain meals! I did take disposable storage containers which were greatly needed. I didn't give the unit five stars because 1. Room on second floor has a broken window and could not be opened for fresh air; 2. Air conditioner is not efficient and the townhouse never reached our desired temperature. However, when in the mountains it isn't a huge issue. But we did get hot in bed at night (resulting in choosing open windows), and still got hot. The third floor is the hottest floor; 3. Carpeting needs to be replaced. My mother is 81 years old and tripped a couple of times on the loose carpet (that shouldn't be loose and raised). Albeit, we LOVED this unit and hope to return. Convenient to town and pool. Side note - my daughter did sleep on the sofa (not a sleeper sofa) and was very comfortable! The rental agency was very helpful and accommodating as well. We will use them again. Mary S.

Great Townhome, Just Minor Issues. This is a great place to stay for a ski trip. The washer and dryer in the unit are a big plus, and Ouray Vacation Rentals provided towels, toiletries, and a few kitchen items, which was extremely generous. I only have three complaints: The internet was not working in the unit at all, (which didn't really bother us since we were out skiing and snowboarding during the day), a couple windows on the second floor are broken or letting air out, and the road noise. This unit is right next to US 550, which has steady traffic traveling through the area. Parking in the driveway is very difficult if you have a larger vehicle such as a minivan or truck, but not impossible. The unit itself has some very nice features like granite counter-tops, stainless steel appliances, and spacious bathrooms and bedrooms. A water heater that lasts longer could be a nice upgrade to the unit, but isn't a need. The master bathroom and bedroom have an amazing view. We stayed here for roughly a week and it was a great experience overall. Kevin B.

Manager Response: We would just like to clarify the comment about "steady traffic" on US 550. While there can be traffic coming through town during the day, US 550 is a two-lane highway that travels through Ouray, and the speed limit changes from 35 to 25 mph just before passing the location of the townhouses. Most nights you can stand in the middle of Main Street (550) and not see another car in sight. We just didn't want anyone to get the impression that the townhome is next to a busy, multi-lane highway.

High-end living just outside Ouray! This townhouse provides a spacious living area, updated stocked kitchen, and comfortable bedrooms each with private bathrooms. We have stayed at this location numerous times and it never disappoints. The only down side is that it is outside downtown Ouray (about a 3 minute drive), but well worth it for the comfort and quality of the place. We will definitely be back next year! Robert C.
